Sour Cream & Cornbread Cake Recipe
Prep Time: 15 minutes | Cook Time: 30 minutes | Cooling Time: 1 hour | Servings: 8-10

Ingredients
For the Cake:

1 cup all-purpose flour

1 cup yellow cornmeal

1/2 cup granulated sugar

1 Tbsp baking powder

1/2 tsp salt

1 cup sour cream

1/2 cup (1 stick) unsalted butter, melted and slightly cooled

2 large eggs

1 tsp vanilla extract

For the Cinnamon-Sugar Topping:

1/4 cup unsalted butter, melted

2 Tbsp granulated sugar

1 tsp ground cinnamon

Instructions:

 

Step 1: Prepare to Bake

Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).

Grease a 9-inch round cake pan and line the bottom with a circle of parchment paper, then grease the paper for foolproof release.

Step 2: Combine the Dry Ingredients

In a large mixing bowl, whisk together the flour, cornmeal, sugar, baking powder, and salt. This ensures the leavening is evenly distributed for a perfect rise.
